2017 Family Camps

What are Family Camps?

It is Bible camp for all ages – from infants to seniors, and everyone in-between. We have seven camps to choose from this summer, five that are 6 days, and two that are 3 days. We help you and your family grow in faith while experiencing Jesus in powerful ways at this beautiful lake setting near Alexandria, MN. You gather with other families and staff to interact, play, study, and have a lot of fun!

We gather for Morning Praise, centered around the Daily Texts, a devotional booklet published through Mount Carmel, as well as other dramas, singing, and worship activities. This centers us on the joy of hearing God’s Word for the day.

Morning teaching and activities follow for all ages, including nursery care. The adults gather with a speaker, often a Bible professor, pastor, or topical teacher for the week. Youth take part in uplifting worship and exciting age appropriate Bible lessons with trained summer staff during rest of the morning.

Everyone meets back together with their family for a tasty lunch in the lodge. Afternoons are free time, with a variety of activities available including the fun at the beach (sauna, water carnival, family olympics), field games (soccer, sand volleyball, disc golf, tennis, etc.), boating (canoe, kayak, paddle boats, pontoon rides), arts and crafts (i.e. tie dye T-shirts), or travel to area attractions (golfing, shopping, winery, museum, amusements). All camp activities are free (except paddle boards, ropes challenge course and zip line, which have a minimal charge), and there is a lot more you can do.

After supper, the evening includes a special time for worship, followed by exciting activities which may include a campfire with s’mores, talent show, improv, family dance, concert, or games. Gather with others for Canteen to share in popcorn, ice cream, or other treats as the sun sets for the evening.

You have the choice of two meal plans for 6 day camps, offering you the opportunity to have all or part of your meals provided. All of our housing is designed for families, include bathroom/showers, with some cabins including kitchens to help you prepare your own meals if you choose to do so.

Mount Carmel has been leading Family Camps since 1938! Join us this summer for an experience you will never forget.
