Mount Carmel FAQs

What is Mount Carmel Ministries?

Mount Carmel Ministries is a non-profit, Christ-centered corporation which is owned by Proclaimers and governed by a Board of Trustees. The areas within our ministry are: Mount Carmel Conference Center, Mount Carmel Summer Family Camp, Daily Texts, and Walk Thru the Bible seminars.

What is Mount Carmel?

Mount Carmel is a year-round conference center and summer family camp.  It is a Christ-centered community for all ages where the gospel is experienced. The high season of our intergenerational programming is from mid-May through mid-October. The rest of the year we host retreats for churches, individuals/families and Christian organizations, plus offer programs of our own.

What is the Daily Texts?

Daily Texts is a devotional book we produce annually for use in congregations, groups and by individuals. It began over 272 years ago as a result of a unique interaction between Moravian refugees living on the estate of a Lutheran layman. Our version combines Martin Luther’s prayer pattern, the TRIP, with the verses that are used world wide in 50 languages. We read and share the verses daily year-round with our staff and guests as we grow together with Christ in the Word.

What is a Proclaimer?

Proclaimers are friends of the ministry that donate $250 or more to our Annual Fund in a calendar year. (The Annual Fund is our General or Operating Fund.) In 2010, there were 430 Proclaimers—families, individuals, churches or organizations – whose average gift was over $750 and their dollar support totaled $426,136.
