Prayer Intercessors

 

Is God calling you to this vital prayer ministry? We believe that God will bless you through this special time of prayer.

There are at least three factors that will affect your involvement in this ministry.  The first is the faith that is leading you to pray.  Moses interceded for his people (Deut. 9:26-27).  He stood between the Lord and the people (Deut. 5:5).  Samuel said he would be sinning if he ceased praying for the people (1 Samuel 12:33).

Perhaps the most familiar passage pertaining to intercession is found in Ezekiel 22:30: “So I sought for a man among them, who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.”

Are you the one that the Lord has called to stand in the gap and pray?

The second factor for this ministry is confidentiality.  The power of any prayer ministry depends on the integrity of those praying.  We will ask you to keep confidential the prayer requests you will be given.  Confidentiality is a strict requirement to avoid sharing what is meant for God’s ears alone.  People will place their trust in us.  We need to honor them.

IMG_0298The final factor is that prayer takes the commitment of time!  We ask that you set aside time each week to pray for the needs we will send you. God will bless us all in through this time! There are over 200 persons committed to pray regularly for Mount Carmel.

We ask our Intercessors to pray at least one day a week for a period of 15 minutes.

You will be assigned to pray one day of the week for the intercessory prayers.  During the months of September to June, we send out a prayer newsletter (by mail or email) that includes an article from the Executive Director, an article from one of the Intercessors, a book mark and prayer list to guide you in your prayers.

In Ephesians 3:16-17, St. Paul encourages us with these words for the tasks before us:

Reid GroupWe pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
