Today’s Old Testament Verse

We have all become like one who is unclean and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy cloth.
– Isaiah 64:6

Today’s New Testament Verse

The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, Before the cock crows today, you will deny me three times. And he went out and wept bitterly.
– Luke 22:61–62

Today’s Prayer

Righteous God, I know the tears of bitterness and shame. The words of denial on Peter's lips are also my own. But because you have made me your own, I can take courage and turn my eyes toward you and ask for forgiveness. In return you will shower me with compassion and will wipe away my sin. Amen.
