Help Us Hear Each Other Better

The Lodge Acoustic Retrofit Project

Our lodge was built in 1997 and it is beautiful. But as Mount Carmel has grown, we have packed more and more people into the lodge. When the lodge is full, the acoustics have made mealtimes painfully loud for many guests.

Last summer, thanks to a generous donor, we hired a professional acoustician to assess the space. They prepared a detailed plan to significantly reduce noise. Using volunteer labor, we can complete the full retrofit for $23,000.

Project Goal

What This Makes Possible

The Difference It Will Make

Table conversations can be heard clearly again, even when the lodge is full and buzzing with life.

Guests with sensory sensitivities can participate fully in meals and community life without being overwhelmed.

Year-round groups, retreats, and classes will be more comfortable for everyone who gathers at Mount Carmel.

The Joy, Hospitality, and Christian Community that define Mount Carmel will be deepened for every guest who walks through our doors.
