Adopt a Cabin
Help restore Mount Carmel's historic cabins.
In the last 85 years, Mount Carmel's cabins have sheltered countless families, campers, and young adults on the shores of Lake Carlos. We are now replacing aging wood siding with maintenance-free LP siding that will last for decades — and in many cases adding high-efficiency mini-split heating and cooling so guests can rest comfortably year-round.
Skilled volunteer labor and at-cost materials mean your gift stretches remarkably far. We believe the following gifts cover the full cost of updating each cabin.

Lakeside Ridge Cabin

Cabins 12–17
Funds the full sheathing and LP siding update for one lakeside ridge cabin — a durable, beautiful upgrade that eliminates the costly five-year paint cycle for decades to come.
West End Cabin

Cabins 1–11
Covers the full sheathing and LP siding for one west end cabin. These cabins host families through the summer and college community and Awaken Project students through the winter months.
Full Comfort Upgrade

Any Cabin
The complete package — high-efficiency foam insulation, LP sheathing and siding, a mini-split for year-round heating and cooling, and new deck railings. A top-to-bottom renewal that will serve guests for decades.

A Note on Cabin 6
Of all the cabins at Mount Carmel, Cabin 6 had fallen the farthest behind in quality and comfort. This past spring we made meaningful interior improvements that will extend its lifespan. If you're interested in supporting that effort, please contact us directly.

Refresh the Lodge — beloved since 1997.
The Mount Carmel Lodge was constructed in 1997 and has aged amazingly well. Its Nordic design elements are beloved by guests year after year. We are now embarking on an effort to refresh these wonderful rooms by replacing the existing carpet and bedding.
