Why it matters

From Family Camp and C.A.R.M.E.L. Camp to the Hymn Festival and Marriage Retreat, every program at Mount Carmel is shaped by the Gospel.

Mount Carmel is a sacred space away from the noise and pressure of daily life. It's a place where guests of all ages are welcomed into this community shaped by grace.

Through the Summer Staff Program, The Awaken Project, and the College Campus Community, we invest deeply in young adults — forming leaders who carry the faith into every corner of their lives.

Less than half of Mount Carmel's ministry is funded through program fees. The rest comes from generous donors who believe in this work and help make it accessible to many. Every gift is an act of faith.
How to get involved
These three commitments have defined the Mount Carmel community for generations. However God calls you to give — your finances, your plans, or your time — there is a place for you here.
Personal Giving
Your gift — whether large or small, one-time or recurring — helps others hear, rest in, and be renewed by the good news of Jesus Christ. We are deeply grateful for every expression of generosity.
One-time donations help meet urgent needs, support seasonal programming, and maintain our facilities. Monthly or quarterly gifts provide steady, reliable income so we can plan ahead with confidence. You can give online, by mail, or in person at Mount Carmel.
Give online now →Many families give together, making generosity part of their shared faith journey — from a special annual gift to a named family fund. Gifts can be directed to specific needs like adopting summer staffers, scholarship funds, a project, or the endowment. Involving children and grandchildren fosters a lasting legacy of faith.

Planned Giving
Many friends of Mount Carmel support the ministry in ways that make the most of their resources and may also reduce their taxes. We are glad to work with you and your financial advisor to make the process simple.
If you are 70½ or older, you can give directly from your IRA to Mount Carmel. These gifts count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) but are excluded from your taxable income — often significantly reducing your tax bill.
Donating stock you've owned for over a year lets you avoid capital gains tax while receiving a charitable deduction for the full market value. This means your gift stretches further for ministry than an equivalent cash gift would.
Including Mount Carmel in your will or estate plan is a powerful way to continue sharing the Gospel long after your lifetime. Legacy gifts can take many forms — a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a gift of property or other assets. Estate gifts often allow donors to make a greater impact than would be possible during their lifetime, ensuring the message of Christ's abundant life will bless generations to come.
For details on any of these options, contact our office at office@mountcarmelministries.com or (320) 846-2744. We're glad to work with you and your financial advisor to make the process simple.

The Mount Carmel Endowment
Mount Carmel's ministry has never belonged to one person, one family, or one generation. From the beginning, it has been sustained through a shared calling — people praying, serving, teaching, welcoming, and giving together for the sake of the Gospel.
The Mount Carmel Endowment is a permanent fund where gifts are invested with care. The principal is preserved, while a portion of the earnings supports ministry year after year. An endowment is not about preparing for decline — it is about planning for faithfulness.
Through the endowment, partners help sustain:

Giving of Time
Your commitments to participate and pray are just as vital as financial giving. Whether you serve with your hands, intercede for this ministry, or simply show up — you are part of what God is doing at Mount Carmel.
Volunteers help with landscaping (mulching, planting, tree trimming), hospitality (kitchen prep, dining room service, greeting guests), construction (carpentry, electrical, roofing), maintenance (cabin startup, staining, repairs), and cleaning (beach, lodge, chapel, cabins). Whether you have a few hours or a full week, there's a place for you to serve.
Our greatest needs are from early May until Family Camp begins in late June. Special volunteer weekends — where friends gather to open cabins, clean, and prepare the grounds — have been a cherished Mount Carmel tradition for decades.
If you're a Thrivent member, you can make your service at Mount Carmel go even further — at no cost to you! Thrivent members are eligible for two $250 Action Team grants each year. Ideas include providing meals for a volunteer weekend, buying plants or tools for landscaping, or covering supplies for a maintenance project. We'll work with you to plan something that fits your interests and meets a real need here.
Contact us to plan a project →Join our intercessory prayer team and cover this ministry in prayer throughout the year. Prayer is one of the most powerful — and most needed — ways to support what God is doing here.
Become an intercessor →From family camps and retreats to young adult gatherings and special events — your presence contributes to the community that makes Mount Carmel what it is. Check the calendar and come be part of it.
View the calendar →Sponsor a cabin or lodge room and invest directly in the space where campers sleep, talk, pray, and grow. A tangible, personal way to connect your generosity to a specific place at camp.
Learn more →We pray regularly for our supporters. We are grateful for you, and we look forward to welcoming you to Mount Carmel in the months ahead.
