Mount Carmel Ministries · Alexandria, MN
Your hands, your skills, your time —
woven into something that lasts.
Every nail driven, every garden bed turned, every cabin scrubbed clean is an act of hospitality for the thousands of families and youth who will walk these grounds. Volunteers have been the heartbeat of Mount Carmel for generations — and that tradition continues starting May 2026.
Whether you come for a single day or a whole week, you'll leave knowing you've helped build something that outlasts you — a place where the gospel is proclaimed, community is formed, and lives are changed on the shores of Lake Carlos.
We welcome volunteers of all skill levels. If you can hold a brush, pull a weed, or bake a loaf of bread — there's a place for you here.
Shape the natural beauty of our lakeside campus.
Extend the warm welcome that defines Mount Carmel.
Prepare every corner for families arriving with anticipation.
Build and repair the spaces where faith communities gather.
Refresh, restore, and prepare for a new season of guests.
Non-local volunteers are provided with housing when available. Campground sites with electrical and water hookups are also accessible.
Meals are provided when our kitchen staff is present. When they're not, housing with full kitchen access is available.
Stay connected and enjoy the quiet of our on-site library — a good place to rest between projects.
When retreats are happening on campus, volunteers may have the opportunity to join in on activities at beautiful Lake Carlos.
On-site coordinators are here to answer questions, provide tools, and help you find the right project for your skills.
Work alongside fellow believers, share meals, and experience the joy of serving a ministry that proclaims Christ to every generation.
We welcome volunteers year-round, with the greatest need in the weeks leading up to Family Camp — when every cabin, path, and garden needs to be ready for arrival day.
Projects available in all seasons. Contact us to find what fits your schedule.
Coordinators go on-site. Cabin startup, landscaping, and deep cleaning begin in earnest.

Good to Know
On volunteer weekends, coordinators are fully present to welcome you, answer questions, and match you with the right work. During weekdays in May, coordinators are on-site but focused on their own responsibilities — so weekday visitors should come ready to work independently.
We have two scheduled volunteer weekends this spring — and on these weekends, we take care of you completely. Meals, housing, tools, coordination — everything is provided so you can show up and serve.
May 14–17, 2026
Open to Everyone
All are invited to participate! This weekend is ideal for anyone who wants to help prepare camp for the season — no prior experience needed, just a willing heart and ready hands.
May 21–25, 2026
Trade & Construction Focus
Focused primarily on higher-skilled projects. We especially encourage those with carpentry, construction, or trade experience — many tasks require technical ability and hands-on expertise.
Throughout May
If you'd like to come for a full week or outside of the scheduled weekends, we'd love to have you — and there is no shortage of projects. However, our coordinators are busy with their own work during the week, so this option is best suited for skilled, highly self-directed volunteers who are comfortable finding their footing independently. Housing is provided when available; meals are not guaranteed outside of weekend events.
