A Look Into the Gospel of Mark

Today was the beginning! We held our first Bible study for the Lakeside Bible Initiative at Mount Carmel!

Our intent is to establish a daily rhythm of Bible study and prayer at Mount Carmel. Throughout the year, except when special events are scheduled, we are intending to have morning prayer at 9:00 AM, daily Bible study from 9:15 to 10:00 AM, and evening prayer at 8:00 PM.

We invite you to come and join us!

Our goal is to hear God’s Word speaking to us each day. Today we listened to the first chapter of the Gospel of Mark. We heard who Jesus was – “This is the beginning of the Good News about Jesus, the Son of God.”

We heard a summary of his preaching – “The right time has come and the Kingdom of God is near! Turn away from your sins and believe the Good News!”

We heard about the power of Jesus’ authority – giving commands to the evil spirit, healing the sick, inviting the disciples to follow him.

We heard the confident faith of the man with leprosy as he begged for help from Jesus – “If you want, you can make me clean!”

And we heard Jesus respond as he reached out and touched the man – “I do want to! Be clean!”

Let us join the man with leprosy in his prayer – and join him in hearing Jesus say to us – “I do want to! Be clean!”
